Therapeutic Potential of Microbial Metabolites: New Insights and Perspectives
نویسندگان
چکیده
Microbes release important metabolites that regulate various physiological activities inside and outside of organisms. The human gastrointestinal tract is a reservoir microbes play regulatory roles in modulating the immune system numerous other functions. Thus, there substantial interest these microbial products their clinical significance. These have shown promise as therapies for cancer, inflammation, neurological disorders, many diseases. Here, we discuss with therapeutic potential, including proteasome inhibitors, enzymes, bacteriocins, polyamines, flavonoids.

Insights into the autistic disorder and potential therapeutic approaches
Autism and autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) such as Rett syndrome and Asperger syndromeare enigmatic and complex neurodevelopmental disorders, thought to have originated inparticular interactions of genetic and environmental factors. Despite the extensive research, exact mechanism of pathogenesis is not still completely understood. ASDs are characterizedby deficits and abnormalities in communica...
متن کاملNew immunosuppressive drugs: mechanistic insights and potential therapeutic advances.
Together with CsA, the new macrolide immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin have proved to be valuable tools in providing new information about key molecular events that underlie lymphocyte activation and degranulation. Studies of their mechanisms of action have pinpointed the phosphatase calcineurin and protein kinases as important signaling mediators in T-cell activation. Other new immunosupp...
متن کاملPerspectives of new potential therapeutic applications of somatostatin analogs.
At the present time only two long-acting somatostatin (SS) analogs, octreotide and lanreotide, are commonly used in the routine therapy. Both analogs have a high affinity mainly to a somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2). The established indications for SS analogs treatment include acromegaly, neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract, and some gastro-enterologic diseas...
متن کاملKynurenine Metabolites and Migraine: Experimental Studies and Therapeutic Perspectives
Migraine is one of the commonest neurological disorders. Despite intensive research, its exact pathomechanism is still not fully understood and effective therapy is not always available. One of the key molecules involved in migraine is glutamate, whose receptors are found on the first-, second- and third-order trigeminal neurones and are also present in the migraine generators, including the do...
متن کاملNew therapeutic perspectives – amyloid removal
Background In systemic amyloidosis, disease is caused by extracellular accumulation of amyloid fibrils which, unlike other interstitial debris, are not cleared and which disrupt tissue structure and function. Direct removal of amyloid deposits is required to preserve and possibly restore tissue and organ function. We are targeting serum amyloid P component (SAP) for this purpose. SAP normal pla...
